about

Quite Unnerving recorded live at The Hallamshire Hotel, Sheffield, on the 11th August 1981. One of their earliest live performances, probably the very first.

The line-up for Quite Unnerving was Dave Loukes - vocals, Simon Gilman - bass and at various other points either John Woodhead or Simon Barfield also played bass. Later on, Murray Fenton contributed guitar.

However, on this early recording there is doubt regarding who is vocalist (this may have been before Dave Loukes joined, or he was unable to play this gig for some reason) and there is a mystery guitarist, possibly Michael Heptenstall who was a schoolfriend of Simon Gilman.

Dave and Simon went on to play in The Midnight Choir.
Simon later played in Berserker Joe, Melaena and Weakling (releases by all these bands elsewhere on STA). This good quality recording was a cassette contributed by Simon Gilman and digitised by STA.
