about

Bass Tone Trap recorded "Live at The Jazz Loft" October 1982. Over 100 mins of music, untitled semi-improvised pure sheffield experimental & previously unreleased gems.
The Jazz Loft was actually a weekly music night which rotated between various Sheffield venues. Which venue these recordings are from has been forgotten however!

Paul Shaft - double bass and vocals
Martin Archer - horns, keyboard, harmonica
Derek Saw - horns
John Jasnoch - guitar
Neil Carver - guitar
Pete Infanti - drums

Bass Tone Trap released their debut album "Trapping" in 1984 and contributed one track "Rare & Racy" to the "Four From The floor" E.P.

Outtakes from the Trapping sessions and a Radio Hallam session will be uploaded to Sheffield Tape Archive in the near future..

Many thanks to Paul Shaft for donating these excellent quality recordings (direct from the original tapes) for inclusion on Sheffield Tape Archive.
