about

This was a cassette of Sheffield rock bands, compiled by Skullcrusher fanzine, at the time of the "New Wave Of British Heavy Metal" resurgence of rock bands. The most successful rock export since Joe Cocker was Def Leppard (neither of these featured on STA sadly) who early in their Sheffield career played a set including cover versions of Thin Lizzy songs. The Yorkshireman was a favoured rockers pub with Rebels night club and The Wapentake which also featured live bands as did several other pubs including The Penguin at Shiregreen.

If anyone from the featured bands wish to get in touch I will add other information here (or remove any tracks which they would prefer not be included here).

Many thanks to Haze for digitising and sending this for inclusion.

Well spotted Eagle Eyed Matt who pointed out a disrepancy between the title on here and that on the image.. now corrected thanks.
