Mike Montez and The Velvetones were actually from Hull but they have been included here on STA since the curator of STA lived in Hull in the mid-80s and Velvetones, together with The Gargoyles, were favourites of the time.

Produced by Brian Rudd who also played Piano on some tracks.

The Velvetones were a familiar sight in the Adelphi Club in Hull back in the 1980s. Dave Hemmingway went on to play in the Housemartins and then the Beautiful South where he was joined by guitarist Dave Rotheray. Singer Mike O'Brien went on to front Pocketful O'Nowt.
