Recorded at Western Works, Sheffield 6th October 1979

I'm So Hollow were:

Jane Wilson - Vocals, Keyboards
Rod Leigh - Guitar, Vocals
Gary Marsden - Bass
Yosef "Joe" Sawicki - Drums

ISH released a single - "Dreams to Fill the Vacuum / Distraction"
the superb album - "Emotion/ Sound / Motion" and contributed the track "Touch" to the Hicks from the sticks compilation LP and the CD compilation "Beats Working for a Living" to accompany the book by Martin Lilleker (included here as a bonus track).. They recorded a John Peel session May 1980 (Monotony is included here as a bonus track) .

This tape was from Martin Lilleker's collection of band demos which, with permission of the artists are gradually being released on STA, with proceeds from their sale to be donated to the Woodland View dementia support group (this is why this release, unlike most on STA has a minimum donation for download). Please support generously.

Martin was a music journalist for The Sheffield Star and Telegraph and author of books documenting the Sheffield music scene from the 60s to 80s. He was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease at the young age of 57 and after several years living at home, needed the support and expertise of staff at Woodland View Nursing Home to maintain his quality of life. While at Woodland View Martin enjoyed the surroundings, the wildlife, walking in the gardens, but most of all, listening, singing and dancing to music whist encouraging others to join in. In his memory we wish to support a project to deliver meaningful music to residents at Woodland View, tailored to both individual needs in one to one or group sessions, but also to provide music in general to promote a relaxing and therapeutic environment for all residents and staff. As music was such a large part of Martin's life and passion, this is a fitting legacy and thank you to all those who cared for him. Thanks to all bands who have allowed inclusion of their music, Martin's family and also Simon Dell for getting the project off the ground.
