Dolebusters was an organisation set up in 1985 to help unemployed musicians and those interested in getting involved in the local music scene. Initially sponsored by the Sheffield Coordinating Centre Against Unemployment it ran as a self-help group, organising gigs, meetings, promotion and support. Several well-attended gigs were organised at The Leadmill, Octagon, Nelson Mandela Building and Western park.This 1987 cassette release was a compilation of local bands who had been involved in some of the Dolebuster events.
Tracks 1-8 recorded at Darnall Music Factory April - May 1987
Tracks 9-17 recorded various places 1985-1987

Several of these artists (and some of the tracks here) already appear elsewhere on Sheffield Tape Archive. There are a couple of other bands which I have no information regarding - if band members would like to supply any information - or if they would like their track to be removed - please get in touch.
