about

A cassette of the soundtrack for the 391 video " View from Hear" 1984 plus extracts from soundtracks recorded for live visual performances.

Written and performed by Nick Cope.

Nick has subsequently updated some of the videos from which this 391 tape was derived. They are online here -

Proceeds from this STA release are donated to charity in memory of Martin Lilleker. Martin was a music journalist for The Sheffield Star and Telegraph and author of books documenting the Sheffield music scene from the 60s to 80s. He was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease at the young age of 57 and after several years living at home, needed the support and of staff at Woodland View Nursing Home.

This tape was from Martin Lilleker's collection of band demos which, with permission of the artists are gradually being released on STA, with proceeds from their sale to be donated to charity in Martin's memory. (Which is why this release, unlike most on STA has a minimum donation for download). Please support generously.

Proceeds have been donated to the Woodland View dementia support group and a bursary for a young music journalist is to be launched in Martin's name.

Thanks to all bands who have allowed inclusion of their music, Martin's family and also Simon Dell for getting the project off the ground.
